About the Role:
Vanguard Medical Group is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our family medicine practice in Hawthorne, NJ. This position provides comprehensive care to both pediatric and adult patients, with a strong focus on prevention, chronic disease management, patient education, and continuity of care. The physician will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to support positive clinical outcomes across the patient population.

 

Schedule: Full-Time

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric and adult patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, vaccinations, and preventive services.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing and review medical records and clinical data to support accurate diagnoses and treatment decisions.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient medical histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and other clinical documentation.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Clearly communicate diagnoses, test results, treatment recommendations, and preventive care guidance to patients and families.
  • Counsel patients on nutrition, physical activity, hygiene, disease prevention, and other measures that support long-term health and wellness.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals when additional services are needed.
  • Work closely with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other members of the care team to support coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives.
  • When participating in hospital rounding, manage and coordinate primary care for Vanguard patients admitted to Chilton Hospital and collaborate with hospital staff and specialists to support continuity of care and appropriate outpatient follow-up.

  • Chilton Hospital, when participating in hospital rounding

Schedule:

  • Full-time schedule
  • Rotating call coverage
  • Rotating weekend coverage
  • Rotating holiday coverage
  • Hospital rounding rotation preferred

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Family Medicine.
  • Valid and unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
  • Physicians completing residency are encouraged to apply; post-residency experience is not required.
  • Ability to manage a diverse patient population and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong electronic medical record skills and ability to use clinical data to support patient outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • May require light lifting (up to 20 lbs.) for supplies or office materials.
  • Must have visual and auditory acuity to operate computer systems and phones.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated annual compensation for this position ranges from $210,000-$280,000, depending on the role and experience level. Additionally, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and other company-sponsored benefits.
